Details of the Program
- 6 months work experience in a Rural secondary care hospital
- Hands-on clinical exposure in medical, surgical, obstetric, anesthetic, and community medicine fields
Who Can Apply?
- Post MBBS doctors with internship + registration
- Foreign Medical Graduates cleared FMGE with license
- Doctors keen on rural healthcare
- Doctors upgrading clinical acumen with emergencies
What Skills Will You Acquire?
- Managing medical emergencies (stroke, MI, TB, sepsis)
- Handling surgical emergencies (appendicitis, trauma)
- Wound care, suturing, abscess drainage, anesthesia
- Outpatient management of medical & surgical cases
- Obstetric and gynaecological care
Advanced Skills
- Basic ultrasonography
- Assist in major operations (gastrectomy, laparoscopy, mastectomy, hysterectomy)
- Perform operations (hernia repairs, C-section, biopsies)
- Learn diagnostic Upper GI endoscopy
Community Exposure
- Regular community visits for health education, screening and management
- Antenatal screening visits
- Malnutrition screening visits
- Cancer screening visits
- Running outpatient clinics in remote area health centres
Certification
- Exit exam (Theory, OSCE, Viva)
- Certificate awarded by ASHWINI
