Overview
The tribals of Gudalur are an exploited marginalized community. They had no access to health care. Deaths, from causes that were easily preventable, were rampant. The tribal population was dwindling in number. At this time ASHWINI was founded. The organization has been working for the health welfare of tribals since 1990.
How It Works
• The Gudalur Adivasi hospital caters to the adivasis of the Gudalur Valley.
• A surgeon, a gynaecologist, a family practitioner, a physician and a junior doctor provide these services.
• Patients with all kinds of diseases are treated here.
• Basic investigations are done for most of the patients.
• The donation is used for the treatment of the tribal patients, in particular
